Get Center Point High Back on the Field

In the Texas Hill Country, two floods hit Center Point High in just over a year. Insurance won’t repair their fields.

The Need

Center Point is a small community on the Guadalupe River in Kerr County, Texas, just two hours west of Austin.

In the early morning hours of July 4, 2025, the Guadalupe rose nearly 30 feet. Floodwaters swept through the Texas Hill Country and seriously damaged Center Point High’s facilities. Over the next year, the district spent about $30,000 on repairs.

On July 16, 2026, just weeks after Center Point finished restoring its athletic fields, the Guadalupe River flooded again. Two feet of water covered school grounds, washing away repairs and leaving the campus in disarray. Floodplain maps were redrawn after the 2025 flood, so the school’s insurance won’t cover this year’s damage.

This fall, we approached Center Point to ask how we could help. Athletic director Brent Beadle told us that repairing the softball complex is the school’s top priority. Children and families from across the area use the field regularly, and the school is a center of community life. But without insurance, the school needs outside funding to get back on the field.

With your help, Center Point can rebuild its softball field before the February 2027 season and protect the facility from future floods.
